Its a small book of around 250 pages that deals specifically with non-equilibrium MOS devices and gives in great detail the physics that goes behind the construction of the SRAM and DRAM. The part on DRAM deserves special mention,I cant recollect any other text that so clearly elucidates its structure - drawing comparisions between charge coupled devices which it resembles partly and basic design of the one transistor cell as the circuit element.It firmly drives home the point as to why a refresh cycle is essential in dynamic RAM by pointing out the inherent non-equlibrium condition of the MOS capacitor and its spontaneity to move into a more stable regime due to electron-hole pair generation that tends to fill up the depleted potential well under the storage gate.And if you want to get a simple yet detailed view of advanced MOS concepts by slightly side-stepping quantum phenomena, the last chapter of the book does that very well.Since no 'inside-search' on the book is available here on Amazon,I shall in brief mention the chapters for the benefit of the interested reader. Ch1. worth reading

An interesting essay on journalistic ethics. However, reading the rebuttal that McGinniss has appended to the newest edition of "Fatal Vision" the argument could be made that Janet Malcolm also played fast and loose with her reporting of the MacDonald v. McGuiniss lawsuit. Given her scant attention to the facts of the MacDonald murder case, you could get the impression from this book that MacDonald is innocent of the murder of his wife and daughters when in fact the evidence is overwhelmingly against MacDonald. A good read, but you need to read McGinniss' rebuttal to make a fair assessment.

Quick Read, Fascinating Look at Truth and Integrity in Journalism

The Journalist and the Murderer is really a must-read for aspiring journalists, and writers, and anyone interested in what goes into postmodern character development. Malcom - with whom I disagree, as a human - asserts that there is a cynical and manipulative relationship that governs all interactions between interviewer and interviewed, and to ignore this is to either be disingenuous or naive. The story follows how she came to conclude that journalist and author Joe MacGuinness was a jerk, and the subject of a book of his, a convicted mass murderer, was innocent.

The book makes for compelling reading. It's well written. It examines terrifically interesting topics from an interesting perspective. Paradoxically, it espouses and falls victim to many of the very biases and assertions that Malcom herself describes as bad, or in poor taste, and, ultimately, one is left with the sense that she doesn't like herself very much.

Amazing book. The author explores the behaviour of a journalist who ingratiated himself into the life of a man (a doctor) on trial (and convicted) for murdering his wife. The journalist misrepresented himself to the doctor as being a supporter of his innocence; but actually fossicked and exploited what he learned to write a book completely crucifying the doctor. Malcolm’s book looks at the ethics of what the journalist did. This book is incredibly compelling and fascinating. Highly recommend!

The best book I've read on learning how to tie knots

I saw this book at a Boy Scout University of Scouting. I knew I needed to buy it after thumbing through it. Superb book on how to tie all kinds of working knots, and has an equally outstanding section on lashings. The lashings section also has useful structures that can be built using lashings.

Excellent book. It has easy to follow illustrations and text. The author also gives uses for various knots. Lashing, whipping, and terminology is also covered. While not an encyclopedia of knots it provides more information than the average person needs to know.

He has past experience in aerospace radar data commutation and artificial intelligence, specifically machine learning algorithms. Mr. Finegan has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Rowan University, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Virgina Commonwealth University.

Robert Liguori, (Abescon, NJ) OCA, SCJP, has been a Senior Software Engineer since 1996 and is currently the lead developer for several Java based air traffic management applications. Mr. Liguori has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Mr. Liguori is also the President of the Atlantic City Java User Group.

In general I think they do a good job of explaining the material

I read this book and took the test and passed.

The books is structured really well and covers everything you need to know. There are no grammatical errors and the authors write extremely well. In general I think they do a good job of explaining the material. There are, however, a few places where there are some mistakes. They need to get an errata going and fix those asap.

Here was my biggest complaint: The sample questions and mock test that they provide you on the CD is in no way shape or form representative of the level of difficulty of the questions on the real test. I finished test one from the CD in about 45 minutes to an hour and scored about 90%. On the real test I needed every moment of the 2 1/2 hours and got a much lower score. Of course I still passed.

Perhaps the kaplan tests are more realistic.
